Patient Signature LienPSL
A lien executed by the patient themselves, authorizing the provider to be paid from their personal injury recovery.
A Patient Signature Lien (PSL) is signed by the injured patient, who agrees that the provider will be paid out of any settlement or judgment. It establishes the patient's personal obligation for the balance and their consent to direct payment to the provider.
Witnessing matters. Many states allow a patient-only signature, but most factoring companies require a witness signature for a clean assignment. Capturing a witness at intake — the patient is already in your office — keeps the receivable sellable.
