Letter of RepresentationLOR
A letter from a law firm confirming it represents the injured patient in their personal injury claim.
A Letter of Representation (LOR) is sent by the attorney to providers, insurers, and other parties to confirm they represent the injured person. For a provider, the LOR establishes who to route records and lien documents to and confirms there is an active case behind the treatment.
Keep it current. If the LOR predates the date of loss by more than 90 days, or no longer matches the attorney's active matter, expect questions at settlement. Refresh it at the start of treatment and at major milestones.
