    Revenue Cycle (RCM)

    Revenue Cycle ManagementRCM

The end-to-end process of capturing, billing, and collecting revenue for care — from patient intake through final payment.

Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is the full financial lifecycle of a patient encounter: intake and eligibility, charge capture, coding, claim submission or lien filing, follow-up, and collection. In PI, the cycle is longer and messier — payment can be tied to a settlement years away.

Where PI RCM differs. Instead of submitting a clean claim and getting paid in 30 days, PI revenue depends on lien execution, records turnaround, attorney communication, and settlement timing. Tightening each of those steps is what moves average days-to-payment down.
